Support Scientist in Wave Modeling

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Support Scientist for Operational Wave Modeling Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate the wave model WAVEWATCH III within regional and global domains
• Collaborate on wave forecast system improvements and transition-to-operations
• Support integration of the wave model into end-to-end systems

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of spectral wave models, particularly for real-time applications
• Degree in meteorology, physical oceanography, physics, coastal engineering, or related field
• Experience running numerical models on High Performing Computer (HPC) platforms
• Familiarity with modern software development practices and version control software
• Advanced skills in programming languages such as FORTRAN90 and Python
