Surgery Coding Education Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a motivated Coding Education Specialist with a focus on Surgery, this fully remote position will support and lead ongoing education for coding staff, coordinate projects related to coder development, and assist with coding analysis and training for new hires.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as a coding expert for assigned specialties and provide training to new and existing coders
• Monitor the quality of coding staff work through audits and identify areas for education
• Create and present educational materials regarding coding standards and updates to the team

Required qualifications:

• CPC or AHIMA coding certification required
• 3-5 years of surgical coding experience with expertise in procedural and diagnosis coding
• Specialty certifications preferred
• CPMA certification highly preferred
• Experience with EMR and Practice Management software
