Surgical Scheduling Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient patient flow, the full-time Surgical Scheduling Specialist will schedule testing and procedures, perform medical necessity checks, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff, with the potential for a hybrid work schedule after six months.

Key responsibilities:

• Schedules testing and procedures accurately to ensure maximum productivity
• Performs necessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare
• Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare staff to minimize appointment errors

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 year of related experience
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate preferred upon hire
• General knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Ability to type 35 WPM corrected for errors preferred
