Job Summary
Supporting surveying and mapping activities for utility and infrastructure projects, the full-time Survey Technician will assist survey crews in collecting accurate field data, preparing survey documentation, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards on-site.
Key responsibilities
- Assist survey crews in performing topographic, boundary, route, and construction surveys for power delivery and utility projects
- Collect, record, and verify field measurements and geographic data for project planning and design
- Support the preparation of survey maps, field notes, sketches, and reports using CAD or survey software
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred)
- 3 years of experience in land surveying or utility surveying
- Familiarity with surveying equipment such as Trimble, Leica, or Topcon systems
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles, measurements, and field procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, maps, and technical drawings
