Swahili Consecutive Interpreter

Job Summary

To facilitate effective communication, the contracted Swahili Consecutive Interpreter will provide over-the-phone interpretation services, ensuring clarity and understanding while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during phone calls, meetings, and interviews
• Listen to the speaker in the source language and accurately convey the message in the target language
• Maintain professionalism and comply with HIPAA and client protocols throughout the interpretation process

Required qualifications

• 1+ year of experience or 3000+ hours of active interpretation
• Proficiency in at least two languages (source and target languages)
• Proof of English language proficiency with a "technical proficiency" rating or equivalent
• Completion of Mock Call assessment with a passing score
• Technical infrastructure to support interpretation assignments (headset, stable internet, laptop)
