Switchboard Operator

Job Summary

Answering incoming telephone calls and directing them to the appropriate departments, the full-time Switchboard Operator will also page employees and physicians, greet visitors at the main lobby reception desk, and respond to emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and direct them to the correct individual or department
• Page employees and physicians as necessary and assist visitors at the reception desk
• Respond to emergency situations, including various code and alarm panels

Required qualifications

• High School Education
• Minimum one year of experience answering a high volume of calls, preferably in a hospital setting
