System Design Engineer

Job Summary

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the full-time hybrid System Design Engineer will analyze carrier networking environments, create optimized solutions, and support RFP/RFQ responses while providing field support for network planning and deployment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support RFP/RFQ Network Design responses and ensure accurate and timely submissions
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for network planning and deployment, guiding the field team
• Research and develop technical specifications, evaluating vendor and internal options for optimal product selection

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics; PhD preferred
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with a strong preference for 3+ years in 3rd party network design or optimization tools
• Working knowledge of carrier-class networking architecture, including WDM and IP/MPLS technologies
• Functional experience in sales engineering or product management is essential
• Proficiency in scripting using Excel, Matlab, Python, or similar tools
