System Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a System Engineer to support a core Medicare claims processing platform by bridging legacy systems with modern components.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze VSAM file structures and COBOL program behavior for system enhancements and troubleshooting
• Support and maintain JCL for batch processing and job execution
• Document system behavior, integration points, and release procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Strong analytical experience with mainframe systems, including VSAM and COBOL
• Working knowledge of JCL
• Familiarity with Java applications and deploying packaged components (TAR files)
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical teams
