System Safety Engineer

Job Summary

To ensure compliance with industry safety standards, the contract System Safety Engineer will conduct engineering and technical safety analyses for complex systems while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform system safety analyses in accordance with MIL-STD-882E and develop safety documentation such as SSHAR, SAR, and FHA
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation analysis, documenting findings in formal safety reports
• Collaborate with engineering teams and participate in customer-facing meetings to present safety analyses and recommendations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace, or related field
• Experience performing system safety analyses using MIL-STD-882E
• Hands-on experience with SSHAR, SAR, FHA, and HTS
• Strong understanding of hazard analysis techniques and risk assessment methodologies
• Experience preparing formal technical documentation and reports
