Systems Administrator/Cyber Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support enterprise IT and cybersecurity initiatives, the remote contract Systems Administrator/Cyber Security Engineer will manage day-to-day operations, maintain systems, and ensure security compliance in both Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support maintenance of IT and IT Security tools and systems while managing ticket queues and performing access reviews
• Deploy and maintain cybersecurity applications, patch systems, and remediate vulnerabilities across platforms
• Contribute to documentation and participate in Agile/Kanban workflows to enhance operational efficiency

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role within a large enterprise environment
• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience with a focus on enterprise best practices for security and hardening
• Hands-on experience with Linux (Centos, Red Hat, Ubuntu) or Windows server operating systems, including patching and upgrading
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and experience using SIEM technology
• Basic scripting skills in languages such as Ansible, Python, Bash, or PowerShell for task automation
