Systems and Network Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization program, the full-time Systems and Network Specialist will design secure networking infrastructure for migrating MHS Genesis to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, analyze on-prem networking configurations, and ensure compliance with Ports, Protocols, and Services Management requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Translate existing on-prem router, switch, and firewall configurations into optimized cloud-native equivalents
• Partner with internal engineering teams and government stakeholders to author PPSM documentation
• Troubleshoot on-prem and cloud network performance issues and monitor technical control facility problems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of eight years in network operations, support, and design
• US Citizen with an active ADP IT-II Public Trust Clearance based on a Tier 3 investigation
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model, including packet-level traffic analysis
• Proven experience designing and implementing multi-layer network segmentation and core routing protocols
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
