Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Providing technical leadership for the GEOTAM program, the full-time Systems Engineer will support the modernization and sustainment of geospatial systems for the U.S. Census Bureau, focusing on system architecture, application development, and cloud migration in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and modernization of enterprise IT and geospatial systems
• Translate business and mission requirements into scalable technical and architectural solutions
• Support cloud migration initiatives and manage database environments across development and production systems

Required qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in enterprise IT systems engineering or application modernization
• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OCI
• Strong knowledge of geospatial systems and database management, including Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal government clearance if required
