Systems Engineer / Architect

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Senior Systems Engineer / Architect will design, develop, and maintain complex software systems while leading project teams and influencing technical decisions for enterprise observability implementation and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement robust, scalable software architectures and write clean, efficient code
• Lead development efforts for projects, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices
• Develop scalable observability strategies using Datadog for applications, infrastructure, and cloud services

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience, or a High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years of experience
• Proven experience as a Cloud DevOps and Automation Engineer
• Strong development background with Python, Bash, PowerShell, and YAML
• Hands-on experience enabling Datadog infrastructure monitoring and application performance monitoring
• Must be willing to obtain a Datadog APM and Distributed Tracing Fundamentals Certification
