Systems Engineer for AI Support

Job Summary

To support artificial intelligence initiatives within the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time remote Systems Engineer for AI Support will develop, integrate, and optimize AI-enabled workflows and cloud-based solutions while collaborating with project managers and technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of AI-enabled operational and research solutions across ORD initiatives
• Assist with the integration, optimization, and maintenance of data systems and cloud-based platforms for AI and analytics activities
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support AI pilot initiatives and improve operational efficiency through simplified workflows and rapid testing

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, data science, healthcare informatics, or a related technical field
• 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, software integration, or cloud solutions in complex organizations
• Experience with SQL, Python, ETL processes, APIs, or systems integration activities
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies or AI-enabled workflow solutions
• Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
