Systems Engineer - Safety Validation
Job Summary
Proactively establishing safety processes, the full-time remote Systems Engineer - Safety Validation will lead field safety initiatives, define operational readiness testing for autonomous vehicle operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety protocols.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the establishment of processes for escalating fleet issues and managing incident responses
- Define and conduct operational readiness testing, creating evidence for the readiness framework
- Analyze operational trends and past field events to drive systemic safety enhancements
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of experience in safety-critical system development, validation, or operations
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and hazard analysis techniques
- Familiarity with relevant safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448/SOTIF, UL 4600)
- Experience monitoring safety metrics and designing test plans for autonomous or robotic systems
