Systems Programmer - z/OS
Job Summary
As a full-time remote Systems Programmer - z/OS, the successful candidate will develop, test, and maintain software for operating systems and provide critical support for mainframe environments, ensuring system security and collaborating with IT professionals to implement innovative technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the software that controls the operating system and hardware
- Provide programming and product support for the mainframe operating system platform
- Conduct root cause analysis discussions and offer technical guidance to professional work teams
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in z/OS operating system installation, maintenance, configuration, and support
- Experience with zOS subsystems, including JES2, SMS, and RACF/ACF2
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with IBM program products and standard mainframe ISV/OEM software products
- Experience in a complex GDPS environment is preferred
