Job Summary

Working remotely as an independent contractor, the part-time Tajik-English Phone Interpreter will handle on-demand calls, facilitating communication between Tajik and English speakers across various industries, while maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretations in a professional manner
• Render accurate concepts and meanings in accordance with established interpretation protocols
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during emotionally charged or stressful calls

Required qualifications

• Fluency in Tajik and English, with a strong understanding of cultural dynamics
• Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation preferred
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for high accuracy during interpretation
• Ability to remain neutral and objective, particularly during sensitive conversations
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
