Taxonomist Metadata Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Taxonomist / Metadata Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing metadata structures to identify gaps and inconsistencies
• Define and implement a metadata, taxonomy, and ontology strategy tailored to HR and AI use cases
• Establish governance processes and operational rules to maintain metadata integrity over time

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information science, library science, semantics, ontology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of professional experience in taxonomy, metadata, ontology, or related disciplines
• Experience supporting AI-enabled or search-driven experiences using structured metadata
• Hands-on experience implementing metadata standards within CMS and/or enterprise search platforms
• Ability to work independently in a less mature or greenfield environment
