Taxonomist (Washington Licensed)

Job Summary

To support the Taxonomy team, the full-time Taxonomist (Washington Licensed) will manage taxonomy editing, classification review, and metadata enrichment in a remote setting, focusing on enhancing content understanding and business efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed data analysis to identify identical and/or fuzzy matches across multiple vocabularies
• Research to enrich node metadata and ensure adherence to taxonomy governance guidelines
• Provide status reporting on progress, questions, issues, and potential opportunities with partners and stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, Information Management, Linguistics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in developing taxonomies, thesauri, or ontologies
• Experience with taxonomy or ontology management software (e.g., Semaphore)
• Strong ability to communicate and present taxonomy principles and standards
• Proven experience in data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets
