Job Summary

A school district is seeking a Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide adaptive equipment instruction, orientation and mobility instruction, daily living skills support, and braille instruction
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, act as a liaison between stakeholders, advocate for students, and provide educational tutoring
  • Assist resource teachers, adapt low vision equipment, and support students in grades K-12 with mild to moderate visual impairments

Required Qualifications:
  • Teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Washington preferred
  • Experience in working with visually impaired students
  • Familiarity with adaptive technology and equipment
  • Knowledge of braille instruction and low vision equipment adaptation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, teachers, and ophthalmologists
