Job Summary
Supporting a culture of inclusion and wellbeing, the part-time Teaching Support Specialist will oversee four online distance learning courses related to horticulture, engaging with participants and updating course materials remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Implement best practices for distance learning and serve as the lead educator for web-based course modules
- Assist with recruitment, participant engagement, and provide daily feedback on assignments and technology questions
- Hold occasional office hours via Zoom and collaborate with the supervisor to review course evaluations and update materials
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and up to 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
- Background in Instructional Design in Online Course Environments (Moodle Platform)
- Experience in Organic Gardening, Gardening Design, and/or School and Community Garden Management
- Adult teaching or education experience (5+ years), preferably in an online environment
- Content knowledge appropriate to the topics of the courses
