Team Lead PHP Engineer

Job Summary

Leading a team of developers, the full-time remote Team Lead PHP Engineer will integrate new payment gateways, optimize existing systems, and ensure a seamless payment experience for users while mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and direct the payments and billing codebase while optimizing for reliability, performance, and security
• Manage end-to-end experiments and gateway integrations, including scoping, building, analyzing, and delivering outcomes
• Mentor team members through 1:1s and professional development plans, maintaining team alignment and resilience

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of backend development experience with 1-2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role
• Strong PHP skills with experience in modern frameworks such as Yii2 and/or Laravel
• Proficiency in relational databases like MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
• Expertise in Git and Docker, along with software architecture design on high-load projects
• Professional-level English for effective communication and collaboration
