Job Summary
Leading a team in the development of Alpaca's algo trading platform, the remote Team Lead - Trading will manage technical direction, oversee project delivery, and enhance team performance while actively contributing to coding and system design.
Key responsibilities
- Define technical direction and architecture for the team's services, making critical trade-off decisions
- Manage the roadmap and ensure predictable delivery of engineering work by breaking down business goals
- Oversee day-to-day execution, including sprint planning and unblocking engineers to maintain workflow visibility
Required qualifications
- Strong software engineering background at a senior or staff level with experience leading a team
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and enhance team capabilities
- Experience delivering complex systems on schedule, with skills in scoping and sequencing work
- Proficiency in low and high-level programming languages such as C/C++, Go, Java, and Python
- Knowledge of distributed systems, low latency optimization, and system design principles
