Tech Lead - Backend (Cards)

Job Summary

As a Tech Lead - Backend (Cards), this full-time remote position will oversee the architecture and delivery of the card issuing and transaction platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build secure and compliant systems while contributing hands-on to the codebase.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and drive the technical architecture for the cards platform, including card issuing and transaction processing
• Lead the design and delivery of scalable systems and APIs, acting as the primary technical decision-maker within the squad
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching and facilitate collaboration across multiple workstreams and squads

Required qualifications:

• 8-12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3-5+ years in senior or technical leadership roles
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex, scalable systems such as microservices or high-throughput APIs
• Strong understanding of card payments and transaction processing in a regulated environment
• Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot and experience with RESTful APIs and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Experience with PCI-DSS compliance and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
