Job Summary

As the Tech Lead for the Explore product, this full-time position based in San Mateo, California, with hybrid/in-office preference and remote flexibility, will manage the technical direction and evolution of a new platform designed to help prospective and transfer students plan their academic pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and evolution of the Explore product, including capabilities for prospective and transfer students
• Establish foundational patterns for Stellic's first multi-tenant system, defining data sharing and management across institutions
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions in a fast-paced environment, balancing speed of iteration with long-term system design

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full stack engineering experience with a track record of leading complex implementations
• Experience building and scaling products from 0 to 1 and 1 to 10
• Strong judgment in architectural decision-making in evolving and ambiguous domains
• Experience with multi-tenant architecture and data sharing models
• Proficiency in SQL and database optimization, preferably with PostgreSQL
