Tech Lead, Fleet Response

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Tech Lead for Fleet Response, this full-time position will own mission-critical full-stack systems for real-time collaboration, leading a team of engineers to ensure reliable and low-latency web applications that support Waymo's autonomous fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end reliability and performance of web applications used for real-time autonomous vehicle support
• Manage frontend and backend infrastructure, including robust APIs and integration with upstream and downstream services
• Mentor junior engineers on web app infrastructure design and best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
• 5+ years of industry experience with web applications (frontend and backend)
• Familiarity with web client architectures such as Angular and TypeScript
• Experience leading technical designs and mentoring engineers on complex projects
• A strong intrinsic motivation for reliability
