Tech Lead, Fleet Response

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Tech Lead for Fleet Response, this full-time position will own mission-critical full-stack systems, ensuring reliable, low-latency web applications that support real-time collaboration for Waymo's autonomous fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end reliability and performance of web applications for real-time autonomous vehicle support
• Manage frontend and backend infrastructure, including robust APIs and system integration
• Mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional teams on web application systems utilization

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field
• 5+ years of industry experience with web applications (frontend and backend)
• Familiarity with web client architectures (Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, etc.)
• Experience leading technical designs and mentoring engineers on complex projects
• Strong intrinsic motivation for reliability
