Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for solving complex payroll-related challenges, scaling systems, and leading a team while collaborating closely with product and operations to drive workflow improvements in a remote or hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Hands-on experience in software development with a willingness to learn the current tech stack
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring individual contributors
• Passion for improving engineering workflows and utilizing AI in operations
