Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the candidate will manage and lead a team in solving complex payroll-related challenges, scaling systems, and designing services while collaborating closely with product and operations in a remote or hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services to move and reconcile money across parties, ensuring clarity and traceability
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Desire to remain hands-on and actively build with the team
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring individual contributors
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and experimenting with AI technologies
