Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the successful candidate will manage and lead a team in solving complex payroll challenges, scale systems for payroll calculations, and support business migrations to Check's infrastructure, with opportunities for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems that power payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as volume and complexity increase
• Design services that move and reconcile money across parties, ensuring clarity and traceability for partners
• Utilize AI to automate complex operational workflows and assist new businesses in migrating onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• A strong desire to remain hands-on and build alongside the team
• A proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring individual contributors
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and experimenting with AI technologies
