Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the candidate will be responsible for solving complex payroll-related problems, managing a team, and collaborating with product and operations to enhance workflow and scalability, with opportunities for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability for partners
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• A hands-on approach to building with the team
• A track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers
• Familiarity with technologies such as Python/Django, React, Typescript, AWS, and Terraform is preferred
