Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

To drive the next stage of growth, the full-time salaried Tech Lead Manager will turn complex payroll-related problems into solutions, manage a team, and collaborate closely with product and operations while working remotely or in-office in New York City or San Francisco.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as volume and complexity increase
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability for partners
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• A strong desire to remain hands-on and actively build with the team
• A proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring individual contributors
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and experimenting with AI technologies
