Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

Acting as a key leader in a full-time capacity, the Tech Lead Manager will turn complex problems into solutions that enhance payroll systems, scale operations, and automate workflows while collaborating closely with product and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Desire to remain hands-on and actively build with the team
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and experimenting with AI
