Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for solving complex, high-impact problems related to payroll systems, while managing a team and collaborating with product and operations to drive workflow improvements in a remote or hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability
• Support the migration of large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure and automate operational workflows using AI

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Desire to remain hands-on and collaborate closely with the team
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers
• Willingness to learn the current technology stack, including Python/Django, React, Typescript, AWS, Terraform, Postgres, and Github
