Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the candidate will be responsible for solving complex problems to enhance payroll systems, managing team dynamics, and collaborating closely with product and operations to drive growth, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity for partners
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• A hands-on approach to building alongside the team
• A proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and experimenting with AI
