Tech Lead Manager

Job Summary

As a full-time Tech Lead Manager, the successful candidate will manage complex software solutions that support payroll processing, lead a team in enhancing engineering workflows, and collaborate closely with product and operations to drive business growth, all within a remote or hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Scale systems for payroll calculations, tax payments, and filings as complexity increases
• Design services for money movement and reconciliation, ensuring clarity and traceability
• Support new businesses in migrating large employer bases onto Check's infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex software and delivering production systems end-to-end
• 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
• Desire to remain hands-on and actively contribute to team projects
• Proven track record of driving business outcomes and mentoring engineers
• Interest in improving engineering workflows and utilizing AI for automation
