Tech Lead, Observability Framework

Job Summary

Leading the Agent Framework team, the full-time Tech Lead, Observability Framework will own the architecture, set technical direction, and drive decision-making to enhance Elastic's agent layer, while collaborating with stakeholders and fostering team development in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable architecture for the agent layer, evaluating new technologies for improved system performance
• Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews to enhance team performance and uphold engineering best practices
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and facilitate cross-team collaboration while managing project risks

Required qualifications

• Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on systems-level software projects at scale
• Deep knowledge of observability data collection protocols such as OTLP and Prometheus Remote Write
• Solid background in Go programming language
• Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software
• Track record of leading large, multi-team technical initiatives from concept to delivery
