Job Summary

As a Tech Lead - Remote, the candidate will set the technical direction for Fool.com and Motley Fool Money, balancing product velocity with code health while engaging in hands-on coding, mentoring engineers, and ensuring production reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and maintain production reliability for both platforms
• Mentor team members through technical coaching and career development conversations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical strategies with business goals

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a tech lead or senior capacity
• Proficiency in Python with production experience in Django; familiarity with Wagtail is a plus
• Experience with Next.js and a solid understanding of web applications and REST API design
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and modern observability tools like Datadog or Sentry
• Track record of mentoring engineers and integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production applications
