Technical Accountant

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Technical Controller to provide strategic oversight and technical accounting expertise for startups.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare GAAP financial statements and conduct technical reviews on complex accounting positions
• Draft and implement accounting policies and build internal control frameworks for startups
• Serve as the primary contact for founders, leading them through institutional audits and managing external firm relationships

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably as an Audit Manager at a regional or national firm
• Exceptional command of U.S. GAAP and ability to document complex technical positions independently
• CPA preferred, emphasizing technical reporting and audit-readiness
• Advanced proficiency in asynchronous communication tools and managing multiple client deadlines
• Expert-level knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks Online or Xero
