Technical Director

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Technical Director for a full-time, on-site position in Los Angeles, who will manage live switching, oversee control room setups, and ensure seamless signal management during a flagship daily live show.

Key responsibilities

• Physically operate the production switcher during live broadcasts, executing video effects on cue
• Configure and maintain control room architecture, ensuring consistency in show appearance
• Manage incoming and outgoing signals, integrating remote guests with low-latency video and audio

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in live technical directing for fast-paced programming
• Proficiency with industry-standard switchers and streaming platforms such as vMix, NewTek TriCaster, or Blackmagic ATEM
• Expert knowledge of modern video transport workflows, including NDI and RTMP
• Exceptional reaction time and spatial awareness in a live broadcasting environment
• Proactive troubleshooting skills with a strong ability to devise backup plans under pressure
