Technical Documentation Consultant

Job Summary

Transforming complex engineering documentation into user-friendly guides, the part-time Technical Documentation Consultant will develop clear application build and deployment workflows and collaborate with engineers to enhance documentation quality in a fully remote contract role.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clear, step-by-step documentation for application build and deployment workflows
• Create end-to-end guides for common CI/CD scenarios, including build, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning processes
• Translate complex engineering concepts into easy-to-understand documentation for engineers who are not CI/CD experts

Required qualifications

• Experience as a Technical Writer supporting software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure teams
• Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery pipelines
• Experience documenting application build and deployment workflows
• Working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD or similar pipeline technologies
• Ability to read and understand YAML configuration files
