Technical Lead Solution Architect

Job Summary

Owning the technical direction of a strangler-fig modernization, the full-time remote Technical Lead Solution Architect will manage the architecture and engineering of a legacy Java estate and its cloud-native successor, ensuring seamless integration and deployment across multiple cloud providers.

Key responsibilities

• Set and defend the technical approach for decomposing legacy functions into microservices while maintaining production stability
• Guide development teams in Java/Spring services, React UI, and data pipelines, ensuring a strong security posture and technical quality gates
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align architecture decisions with public health workflows and support migration engineering for jurisdiction onboarding

Required qualifications

• Master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent substitution
• Hands-on architecture ownership of Kubernetes-based microservice platforms (EKS or AKS, Terraform, Helm)
• Depth in Java/Spring and event-driven architectures (Kafka), with production experience in search or pipeline tooling such as Elasticsearch and NiFi
• Experience sustaining legacy Java estates alongside modernization efforts
• Ability to obtain a federal background investigation and PIV credential
