Technical Project Expert

Job Summary

Providing technical support and guidance, the part-time Technical Project Expert will enhance the capacity of the National Designated Authority and key stakeholders in Mauritius for climate change initiatives, focusing on GCF processes and project implementation while working remotely for a duration of 110 days.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical backstopping and operational guidance to ensure effective project implementation
• Support the Project Coordinator in planning and adjusting project activities and budgets in line with GCF requirements
• Design and deliver training programs to strengthen capacities related to GCF processes and climate investment instruments

Required qualifications

• Advanced university degree in climate change/environmental science, climate economics/finance, project finance, or a related field; a bachelor's degree requires two additional years of relevant experience
• At least ten years of relevant experience in climate mitigation/adaptation and/or agriculture, water, and energy sectors
• Working knowledge of English
• Experience with GCF Readiness projects and reporting processes
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement capacity-building activities for multiple stakeholders
