Technical Solutions Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on delivering innovative solutions for next-generation Data Center Out-of-Band Management networks, the full-time Technical Solutions Engineer will work remotely to provide technical expertise in Passive Optical Networking technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance and operational simplicity.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyze requirements for Layer 2 and Layer 3 data networking solutions supporting 10Gbps PON technologies
• Provide solution guidance for Ciena's SAOS embedded PON software, facilitating customer enablement and market acceleration
• Collaborate across the software lifecycle to support deployment and operational readiness of PON-based data center management networks

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with 7+ years of relevant industry experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Passive Optical Networking (PON) technologies and broadband access architectures
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, and IP protocols
• Experience with network management and automation interfaces, such as NETCONF/YANG and REST APIs
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote and globally distributed teams
