Technical Specialist in Climate Change
Job Summary
Supporting the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT), the part-time Technical Specialist in Climate Change will review and map ICAT's Toolbox, assess its relevance to country needs, and provide evidence-based recommendations to enhance its usability for implementing the Paris Agreement, working remotely on a retainer contract for up to 80 days over six months.
Key responsibilities
- Review and map the ICAT Toolbox, identifying linkages and gaps to improve its effectiveness for developing countries
- Evaluate the Toolbox against country needs and existing climate action resources, providing recommendations for further development
- Develop a structured approach for presenting the ICAT Toolbox to enhance its accessibility and usability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental management/sciences, international relations, business economics, or related fields with 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience
- Relevant experience in climate change, particularly in developing countries
- Experience in developing or applying tools and guides related to climate action or transparency
- Proficiency in English; fluency in French and Spanish is desirable
