Technical Team Lead

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Technical Team Lead (Full-stack) to own architecture and lead high-risk implementations within the Commercial Pod, ensuring technical quality and direction while working remotely from Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Commercial Pod systems, including service boundaries and data models
• Lead the design document process and represent Commercial in the organization-wide engineering standards program
• Mentor engineers in the pod and partner with the Product Manager to align commercial priorities with technical plans

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building production systems, with at least 2 years in a tech lead or equivalent role
• Expertise in TypeScript and deep experience with AWS, particularly serverless and event-driven architectures
• Proven ability to raise engineering quality on existing codebases and lead architecture adoption
• Strong grasp of API design and operational maturity, including on-call experience
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in design docs and RFCs
