Job Summary
To shape the documentation foundation of a mission-critical Department of Veterans Affairs cloud platform, the full-time remote Technical Writer will produce, edit, and maintain a comprehensive suite of technical and operational documents for VA staff and millions of Veterans.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, edit, format, and finalize technical documentation and formal deliverables in coordination with program management
- Produce and maintain weekly progress reports and monthly deliverables reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Section 508 requirements
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible documentation suitable for both technical audiences and VA executive leadership
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in technical writing, English, communications, information technology, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in technical writing for cloud platforms and enterprise IT systems
- Experience producing federal government technical documentation, including project management plans and architecture packages
- Knowledge of SAFe Agile methodology and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, and Confluence
- Active Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance and U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
