Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Technical Writer will create and edit technical documentation, implement writing templates, and collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure quality and accuracy in materials for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Perform technical edits for quality assurance on all documentation prior to customer delivery
- Create and implement consistent writing templates and documentation styles for technical publications
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop user guides, process documentation, and training materials
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Technical Writing/Communications experience in IT or software development
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience interviewing SMEs to gather technical details and creating technical manuals
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with supervisors on responsibilities
