Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Homeland Security, the full-time Technical Writer will draft user-friendly operational guides and training materials while collaborating with Subject Matter Experts in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft technical documentation, including operational guides, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Support curriculum development by editing and proofreading training scripts and lesson guides
  • Enforce style standards by maintaining templates and style guides in compliance with CBP writing directives
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in technical writing, editing, or a closely related role
  • Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
  • High proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and modern Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check
