Job Summary
Supporting the Department of Homeland Security, the full-time Technical Writer will draft user-friendly operational guides and training materials while collaborating with Subject Matter Experts in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft technical documentation, including operational guides, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support curriculum development by editing and proofreading training scripts and lesson guides
- Enforce style standards by maintaining templates and style guides in compliance with CBP writing directives
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in technical writing, editing, or a closely related role
- Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- High proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and modern Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background suitability check
