Technical Writer

Job Summary

To support a key program remotely, the contract Technical Writer will develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and user guides, while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and user guides
• Ensure documentation complies with Section 508 accessibility requirements and is updated within 10 business days of system changes
• Collaborate with program stakeholders and technical teams to gather information and support documentation accuracy

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in technical documentation within an IT or system engineering environment
• Experience documenting complex systems, including APIs and data structures
• Proficiency in documentation tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, or Visio
• Demonstrated experience with Section 508 accessibility compliance standards
